New Music from Pimp C

Bitch Get Down With Pimp C Bun B, 8 Ball and MJG.

The Rock-It Scientist | December 2nd 2015

Pimp C

The Southern rapper is back with a beat from Mr. Lee on Bitch Get Down.  No he didn't come back from "Cuba" with Tupac for this song but it's good to have this music from him.  It has elements from Martin's Jerome "in the house" character an eerie organ in the background and don't you hear that instrument from Lil' Kims Crush on you?  The album drops December fourth, and features collaborations with LiL Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, ASAP Rocky, Juicy J, Lil Keke, Nas, and more

@NiykeeHeaton likes to do this in the bedroom. #NBK

20 Year Old Niykee Heaton Goes On Her Bedroom Tour

By The Rock-It Scientist | November 19th 2015

Niykee Heaton

Nicolet Aleta Heaton, bka, Niykee Heaton, is bringing her bedroom right to a stage near you.  Her fans are swelling up all the tour venues to capacity with sold out shows, I couldn't even get a ticket right now, guess I'll have to use my tricks to get in. I'm dusting off my security outfit and yelling at people to clear the area. Niykee Heaton is doing this all on her own since her bad experience with a major label, she wants to do it her way. Niykee said, "We put up with constant and continual bullying, lies, unfair compromises, underhanded politics, name-calling, blame games and much more all at the hands of grown men who saw two young girls and thought they could control us."

Niykee Heaton decided, she was not going to change. She said "...I would rather die than to sacrifice who I am..." The true words of an indie artist.  The majors do not get it.  They do this with many artist just to realize, that they made a mistake.  The labels are crazy; they keep doing the same thing over and over and expect to get the same results of yesteryear.  A new revolution is taking place and Niykee Heaton is a soldier helping to fight the good fight in the indie Music Revolution.
Niykee Heaton is armed with the AK-47 of indie artist, the internet and she is using it well.
The annunition of YouTube got her discovered and her use of Instagram is just killing it, that's why she decided to call her movement "Naturyl Born Killers"  She said,"That suits us perfectly because we kill everything that's in our way and we don't even have to try."
There is a lot of controversy surrounding Niykees' Instagram. One of her most liked and talked about photos is on the beach, which got 110k Likes and 9,645 comments to date.
She defends her use of Instagram, where she bares everything but her soul by saying, "I grew up an ugly duckling... I never thought of myself as a pretty girl.  When I started my Instagram account, that was just me being me.  The response that I got was really crazy because people were like, "you're so hot!" I became more comfortable with who I was and just kept posting pictures. My mom was a total hippie, so we were always running around naked and that was natural and normal."
What is normal to Niykee is grabbing a lot of attention and it works.  She is not just an "Instagram Model," she has talent and lots of it.  According to Niykee, she's been writing music from age five and self-taught herself the guitar at the age of nine. Her voice is beautiful, she writes, produces, and markets her own music, as well as sell out shows.  She's on her way of becoming a superstar.

Niykee Heaton has a great formula for success.  She started out with YouTube videos here is the first video on her channel where she writes an original song very personal which is about her sister. She performs covers and originals with just her and her guitar since 2012.

Taking hip-hop songs and turning them into acoustic version has worked very well for her, like her most popular video to date Love Sosa Chief Keef.  This is when I heard about her myself.  Now her popularity is grown more and more.

Then comes Snoop Lion's aka Snoop Dogg performance.  Snoop brings out three internet sensations: Walk Off The Earth, Lindsey Stirling and Niykee Heaton. Now she's starting to break out, there is a slowdown of her doing YouTube videos from her bedroom but she still does.  Three years later and now she's on her new chapter of her life and career.  Doing songs with Mike Posner, and putting out a Lyrical video of her original songs.  She met Lauren Pisciotta from YouTube and she ended up moving in with her which started their professional and personal relationship.  It was Lauren Pisciotta who convinced Niykee to do the cover on a dare.  Years down the line when Niykee is on top, you will look back and know I'm right.

USA TODAY: "@Adele's '25': Maturity Beyond Her Years." #MPsays "Seriously?"

by Mister Promo | November 18, 2015

Courtesy of NY Times

Maturity beyond her years? What exactly does that mean? Music wise or peronal life? Because if you are referring to her personal life then I totally agree. She is very wise for her age. However, if you are referring to her music career, then I beg the differ.

When Adele first stepped on the scene with her debut album titled, '19'. It may have taken us by storm. Her sound was definitely not new, she was just different.

Then came '21', which was a revampt '19'. Now we have to deal with '25'? Okay, so "Hello" is at no. 1, big whoop. Is that all we are going to receive from Adele's '25'? If that is the case then her maturity is going to become elderly real quick.

There are actually comment debates on Facebook between people comparing Adele to Janet Jackson. That's obsurd. Check Janet's stats by clicking the link in her full name seen two sentences ago. Adele has a very long way to go.

Why is this even a discussion? They're not even in the same category. Besides, Adele doesn't believe '25' will be a success. Judging from the article in the music section of USA Today delievered today, she isn't being modest. Instead, she is being honest. So, if she cannot see her own success in this coming album, then '25' will not be. Billboard, save the no. 1 spots for artist who are more worthy of success and who are aware of it!! Apparently Adele is running out of youthful ages and meaningful topics to describe her albums. Looks like her flame is burning low.

Honestly, would you be interested in purchasing an album titled, '47' or '64'? I wouldn't.

Her style and music combined ruled the latter years of the 90s and so on. From her clothing to lyrics, Missy had your attention captured. The last we saw of Missy had to be in this video from 2008.

Now for the real question. It has been seven years. What are your thoughts of Missy Elliott and this WTF (Where They From) video? Do you think this video was not good? Did you enjoy it? Are you happy that she is back or do you think that she should have not returned?

Adele's 'Hello' Tops U.K. Singles Chart, Third Week Standing.

Written by Mister Promo | November 10, 2015

Courtesy of Serving Cinema

Adele with her immediate smash hit, 'Hello' has reached week three at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. No. 2 Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' , No. 3 Sam Smith's 'Writing's On The Wall ', No. 4 The Weeknd's 'The Hills ' and No. 5 Drake's 'Hotline Bling.'

Hello?! It's Adele.

After a three year hiatus, while at home becoming a mom, Adele would return to release 'Hello' on October 23, 2015. This track will be featured on her junior album titled '25'.

'Hello' was written by Adele and Greg Kurstin and produced by Greg alone. He also performed the bass, guitar, piano/keyboards while Adele were on the drums.
Greg is otherwise best known for, co-writing on 'Shine ' by Years & Years, co-writing and producing 'Come and Get It ' by John Newman and producing 'Famous ' by Charli XCX. He has also produced and co-wrote a great amount of songs on album, Kelly Clarkson's 'Piece By Piece '. Judging from this, we'd say that Greg is well established.

Prior to mommy-hood, you would recall Adele to the vocals on hit songs such as 'Rolling In The Deep', 'Rumor Has It', and 'Set Fire To The Rain' all featured on the album '21 ' (2011). 'Make You Feel My Love', 'Crazy For You', and the world renown 'Chasing Pavements' all featured on her debut album '19 ' (2008).

Although all of the songs listed above are just great in their own way, 'Hello' is doing something, right now, that's just indescribable. It's simply amazing.

Single sales figures have reached an estimate of 450,000 in the first two days. While in its third week it has accrued another 635,000 more in single sales. This song seems to be doing extremely well. We believe the public is more than prepared to hear what will make up the rest of the album '25'. Well, as it would serve, we only have ten days to wait. Friday, November 20 is the album release.

We are ready. Are you?

Celebrating the Celebrity Life of Hedy Lamarr.

written by Mister Promo | November 9, 2015

Photo Courtesy of Karina Longworth's Blog

Hedy Lamarr
Born Hedwig Eva Kiesler on November 9, 1914 in Vienna, Austria. She became a student of theater director Max Reinhardt in Berlin and began her career in 1930 in Czech and German films. At 19 years old, she would feature in a Czech production Ecstasy (Ektese {1933}). This very film would become an international sensation by her nude appearance in simulating an orgasm. Quite fortunately Hollywood caught wind of this and wanted in. She found interest and signed with MGM. This is when "Hedy Lamar" was created to spark more pizazz behind the actress, as her American film career was born.

Hedy Lamarr would sail on to conquer roles in films such as Algiers (1938) as Gaby, Lady of the Tropics (1939), White Cargo (1942) as Tondelayo. Then sadly post WWII her career in films began to tank so MGM decided not to renew her contract. It would take seven years until the public would experience her talents on screen pictures again. At 35 years old, on December 21, 1949 NYC would capture Hedy Lamarr in the premiere of (my personal favorite) the both epic and classic, Cecile B. DeMilles' "Samson and Delilah" as Delilah (of course) and alongside Victor Mature cast as Samson. This became her best known for performance and Paramount Pictures' most profitable movie filmed. It brought in $12 million in rental from theatres.

Courtesy of Movie Poster

Hedy Lamarr lead on to star in a handful of other pictures, including The Female Animal (1958), before retiring and living out the rest of her years in Orlando, FL. She would leave our world on January 19, 2000. She may be out of physical sight but she will never be out of mental mind.

Happy Birthday, Hedy Lamarr! ! ! !

Did You Know, Elle King was born...

by Mister Promo | November 4, 2015

Elle King

She was born, Tanner Elle Schneider. Yes, her father is actor and comedian, Robert Schneider. Her mother is a former model named London King, which is where the last name King derived from in her stage name. She knew full well that if she were to present herself as Tanner Schneider or even Elle Schneider that she would, by default, end up riding the coattail of her father. Instead, she changed her name to read Elle King. This way she could travel her own path and create her own resources connections along the way.

She grew up traveling back and forth between Ohio and L.A. However, she currently resides in Brooklyn, NYC, and also records her music there. For the time being, you can experience a live perforance of Elle King in Brooklyn and Harlem. Those locatons will grow and vary soon enough.

I say, it was a brilliant move to decide the name change to Elle King. Keep up the great work.
See you at the top.

DID YOU KNOW, George W. Johnson was the first...?

By Mister Promo | November 4, 2015

    George W. Johnson
... was the first Black Recording Artist. In 1890 George W. Johnson (GWJ) became the first African American to record commercially. A common story is that Johnson, a former slave, was discovered singing on the streets of Washington, D.C., by Berliner recording agent Fred Gaisberg.

Known for and as, the
"Whistling Coon" and
"Laughing Darkey".
He created "laughing songs".

According to historian Tim Brooks, Johnson was a familiar figure in New York City's Hell's Kitchen and made his first commercial recordings in the spring of 1890 for the Metropolitan and New Jersey Phonograph companies. Previously, Johnson had also made tin foil exhibition recordings. Later in 1890, a group called The Unique Quartette followed Johnson into the recording studio. The Unique Quartette recorded again in 1893, and one of their titles, "Mama's Black Baby Boy" survives in stunning fidelity.

recording artist, click the link before.

Thank you.

Traci Braxton "Crash and Burn" (@TraciBraxton)

Written by Mister Promo | September 25, 2015

Traci Braxton

Born Traci Renee Braxton, Traci is best known for her role in WEtv's hit show "Braxton Family Values".  This woman has a flame and its burning bright. Traci may derive from a musical family, however, she cannot be held in comparison to either of them in sound. Aside from her vocal talents she is also a writer. Not to mention, she has studied classical ballet, learned to play the drums and dabbled in acting in her childhood as well as in her adult years. As an adult you would have seen her with her husband, Kevin Surratt, in Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

Traci is the third child following Toni and Michael Braxton. She may be one of the middle children along with Towanda Chloe, but I believe that it's clear that because of her many talents, being overlooked is not a factor. Let's get onto the music, Shall we?

Traci Braxton
"Last Call"
(Official Music Video)

This is in fact Traci's debut single off her album titled, Crash and Burn. It definitely sets the mood for what to expect on this album. Including songs, Holding On, DWLY, and What About Love.

Originally from Severn, MD and currently still residing in Maryland, Traci began her music career in 1990. She was apart of a RnB group, The Braxtons. She formed this group with her sisters. Although she would only be apart of the group to release one song titled "Good Life". This because Kevin Surratt Jr. (her only child) became the new light of her life when she found out she was pregnant with him.
 Jojo Crews

In 2011, Traci and her sisters would rejoin once again to create WEtv's "Braxton Family Values". Then in just two years in 2013 Traci would begin her solo singing career. She signed with an independent media conglomerate Entertainment One under eOne Music and Soul World Entertainment.

On October 7, 2014, her solo album Crash and Burn would be released. It would reach #11 on the relaunched Billboard R&B Albums chart and #1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

With numbers like these, It's as if she has never left the music scene.
