This is never easy to do. Asking that special someone (who may mean the world to you) to Prom. Nervousness, sweaty palms, trying to find the words. 

All of these things are likely to take place when approaching that specific person. Or maybe you're just that confident and fearless. Then none of this will occur prior to asking. However, one thing that will occur to both parties is that space of anticipation. Will they say, "Yes" or will they say "No"?

Many people are brave enough to ask this question to their everyday peers. While very few are bold enough to ask this of that one celebrity they are a huge fan of.

In 2004, 17 year old Ruje'anne Duplessis (of Springfield, MA) wrote to BET asking Ludacris to her senior prom. The network was astonished by her bravery and accepted. They planned the whole evening and made it especially special for her.

Not everyone were as lucky as R. Duplessis. Such as Max Whitmore. He was brave enough to create a YouTube video asking Victoria Justice to his prom in 2013. She actually declined attending his prom, however, she did make an appearance later at his school where she spent the day with his friends and teachers.

This year we have a new prom-posal. This one is coming from Cole LaBrant. Just two days ago, Cole uploaded a video to YouTube bravely asking a celebrity to his senior prom. This celeb is none other than, Selena Gomez.

What will Selena's answer be?

I'll be honest, I loved Aaliyah from the first time I saw her music video "Back and Forth" on TV.  As I'm watching it, I just paused in my tracks.  This is not an exaggeration, I could not move.  There was no way I could not let everyone know about my new discovery.

I started to spread the gospel of Aaliyah to everyone I saw and I felt like an Aaliyah Jehovah's Witness. I even thought about going door-to-door to make sure everyone did not die without knowing who she was.  Today she isn't around anymore and her memory has faded to the new generation that has never met or heard much about Aaliyah but about her legacy, her legend.  I  want to continue to spread the gospel especially to those who only heard of Aaliyah but never witness her talents themselves.  Today we celebrate Aaliyah's Birthday who is 36 years old today.  And let's reflect on why we are fans.

"Mr. Love Me Tender" himself would have celebrated 80 years today on his birthday and his son-in-law Michael Jackson would dance for him and Elvis would show Michael how dancing is really done.   Elvis and Whitney Houston would do a mashup of "Heartbreak Hotel." This is just my musical fantasy world.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born today in Tupelo, Mississippi to Vernon Elvis Presley and Gladys Love Presley.  He recorded at Sun Records in 1954 and in 1956  while recording with RCA Records his first recording and his first number one hit,  "Heartbeak Hotel." The King is a Grammy-winning music legend, who sung pop, gospel and blues.  He has done several films and a hell of a dancer.  He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

Like many great musicians demises, drugs abuse and his enjoyment for food brought on the death of Elvis, he died August 16, 1977 at age 42.
