Her style and music combined ruled the latter years of the 90s and so on. From her clothing to lyrics, Missy had your attention captured. The last we saw of Missy had to be in this video from 2008.

Now for the real question. It has been seven years. What are your thoughts of Missy Elliott and this WTF (Where They From) video? Do you think this video was not good? Did you enjoy it? Are you happy that she is back or do you think that she should have not returned?

Adele's 'Hello' Tops U.K. Singles Chart, Third Week Standing.

Written by Mister Promo | November 10, 2015

Courtesy of Serving Cinema

Adele with her immediate smash hit, 'Hello' has reached week three at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. No. 2 Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' , No. 3 Sam Smith's 'Writing's On The Wall ', No. 4 The Weeknd's 'The Hills ' and No. 5 Drake's 'Hotline Bling.'

Hello?! It's Adele.

After a three year hiatus, while at home becoming a mom, Adele would return to release 'Hello' on October 23, 2015. This track will be featured on her junior album titled '25'.

'Hello' was written by Adele and Greg Kurstin and produced by Greg alone. He also performed the bass, guitar, piano/keyboards while Adele were on the drums.
Greg is otherwise best known for, co-writing on 'Shine ' by Years & Years, co-writing and producing 'Come and Get It ' by John Newman and producing 'Famous ' by Charli XCX. He has also produced and co-wrote a great amount of songs on album, Kelly Clarkson's 'Piece By Piece '. Judging from this, we'd say that Greg is well established.

Prior to mommy-hood, you would recall Adele to the vocals on hit songs such as 'Rolling In The Deep', 'Rumor Has It', and 'Set Fire To The Rain' all featured on the album '21 ' (2011). 'Make You Feel My Love', 'Crazy For You', and the world renown 'Chasing Pavements' all featured on her debut album '19 ' (2008).

Although all of the songs listed above are just great in their own way, 'Hello' is doing something, right now, that's just indescribable. It's simply amazing.

Adele, maturity beyond her years? Click here!

Single sales figures have reached an estimate of 450,000 in the first two days. While in its third week it has accrued another 635,000 more in single sales. This song seems to be doing extremely well. We believe the public is more than prepared to hear what will make up the rest of the album '25'. Well, as it would serve, we only have ten days to wait. Friday, November 20 is the album release.

We are ready. Are you?

Taija New - "Newbian King" (@TaijaNew)

Written by Mister Promo | September 24, 2015

Taija New

The woman behind who you view onstage. She is more than just a Hip Hop lyricist and dancer. She is also a songwriter and one of the very, very few hardest working female indie artist I know. This woman holds talent in many areas.

Taija has put forth an extreme amount of hours to combine her love and passion for music, dance, art and life together to create the ultimate experience for you, her audience.
Her heavy hitting (and at times) carnal texts demonstrate her ability to conform to every genre, tempo, and rhythm of tune. Yet this is all done entirely, still, with you in mind, her audience.

Taija is currently working on her debut EP "Color Me Complex". Which features her sophomore single, "Newbian King".

Performing this single live for the first time it received the exact amount of attention it should have. Amazing!

Check that out in the video below.
I implore that you watch the entire video. It features two singles by Taija New, however, Newbian King begins at 4:07.

This performance was filmed live at the
1st Annual Latino Festival
Hartford, CT.

The phenomenal, Taija New.
The self-motivated, Taija New.
The all around talked about,
at the same time, America's
best kept secret, Taija New.
This woman has enough drive
to power a 2016 Bugatti Veyron.

If you aren't ready for her,
then I suggest you take a backseat.

Taija New is moving in every
direction except down.
This Springfield, MA resident,
born and raised, just may be
what the city needs to jump start
the music industry outside of the
rock/alternative music scene.

There are many rap artist residing in
Springfield, MA who have talent but
very few possess the vision for success.
Taija New has both.

Wordsmith - NU REVOLUTION (@Wordsmith)

Co-written by Mister Promo | September 22, 2015

"Living Life with a Purpose, while dreaming of greatness!"
~ Wordsmith ~

In the words of Wordsmith the quote presented just above could not read with more motivation than what is delivered already.

I remember when I first signed up for twitter. It was in the Summer of 2009. One of the first local celebs to follow me was Wordsmith. The first thing I thought was, "how did he get verified?" Then I began to research him and that is when it became clear. This guy is a genius. Or perhaps just a man with a dream that he had plan to see through.
~ MPsays

"WORDSMITH has called many places around the world home. The son of a former full-time Army Colonel meant home changed often; from New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Delaware, Texas, Kansas to as far as Germany. Growing up with the always inevitable relocation, Word found rap to be a powerful constant. His knowledge stems from starvation as he would save his lunch money each week to buy classic tapes from Redman, Big L, Nas, Eric B. and Rakim, Jeru the Damaja, A tribe called Quest, Da Bush Babees, Krs One, Gangstarr, Das Efx, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and his cousin Roc Marciano. Going away to school finally settled Word in one place, Maryland, first Morgan State with a full scholarship to play football, and finally Salisbury University where he continued football and received his B.A. in Theatre, Class of 2002.

Wordsmith, the man behind the lyrics. Being a hip-hop artist can really take a toll on a person. There are so many stereotypes that come along with performing in this genre. The "noise" that is classified as a musical theme for the "urban" communities. Over the years Word outgrew and overcame the negative stereotypes. With that he earned the opportunity of performing shows in not just clubs, but grade schools, colleges, theaters and festivals.
~ Co-MP

One thing people fail to realize about rap and hip hop lyrics is that not all tracks consist of sailor talk. Meaning, Wordsmith creates his music free from prophanity. Yet there are still messages to be received and through his outstanding style it is grasped by rock, pop, alternative and jazz music audiences.
~ Co-MP

This caused a cross-genre appeal. Growing fame brought a demand for a professsional presentation for a more diverse audience. This being why The Big Band Theory was formed. To provide a greater appearance and accumulate much larger and more sufficient bookings.
~ Co-MP

Wordsmith has toured throughout his career with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Las Vegas, Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, Charlotte, Indianapolis, San Jose, Harrisburg, and overseas in London, England. He has both lectured and performed at various music conferences around the country sharing his great music and professional experience with other indie artists; conferences include SXSW, A3C, Mid Atlantic Music, Millennium Music, Launch and more. Wordsmith also visits grade schools to perform for students and promote anti-bullying messages.

As of yesterday, the Nu Revolution music and merchandise just went live. You can now support this present and future music mogul by purchasing hats, shirts and music from his site. ~~>> http://www.nurevcamp.com

@TRISH, Canada's Next Rising Star!

by Mister Promo | April 21, 2015

You remember Trish? With her performances of "Mannequin" "Hi-Yah" and "Up There." Three amazing songs and extraordinary videos. One of which remixed by Ephraim Adamz. (Link for that can be viewed below.)
Well, she is back again with another hit for your listening ears.
She calls this one, "Vacancy."

"You don't find love. Love finds you. That's why it's called falling in love."
Amazing lyrics. It's very simple yet extremely meaningful. Trish really slowed it down with this. This is not nor is it near what she normally records. Fast, upbeat music. This track, however, is that soft, baby making music. I really enjoy it. I imagine you will too.

When listening to this song I kind of feel like she's talking to me. For years, I have searched high and low for love and only met heartache and grief. Only if I were patient I may have met it sooner than never. These lyrics are actually motivating. Take a listen and perhaps you'll understand.

Celebrating 100 Years of Billy Strayhorn! !

by Mister Promo | February 3, 2015

Billy Strayhorn. Born November 29, 1915 in Dayton, OH. Billy was known as one of American History's greatest composer, lyricist, arranger and pianist.
His parents were Lillian Young Strayhorn and James Nathanial Strayhorn. He was the youngest of nine siblings (four of which died). Growing up, there were many struggles. The family moved from home to home, city to city. Until finally in 1924 the family settled in Pittsburgh, PA.
Billy attended Westinghouse High School and Pittsburg Musical Institute for piano lessons.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Post writing his first classical waltz in 1934. He would get introduced to Jazz. This introduction caused Billy's musical emphasis to change.
(See more on the topic just above by clicking "1937")
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During his independent adult years, he has resided in the then beautiful city of Paris. And his final years were spent in NYC.
Billy Strayhorn passed away May 13, 1967 at age 51.

Kelly-Strayhorn Theater event celebrates life of a jazz legend

By Natalie Bencivenga / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Place: Kelly-Strayhorn Theater on Saturday, November 29th, 2014.

The Party: Roughly 200 guests gathered at the East Liberty venue to celebrate what would have been the 99th birthday of jazz legend and Kelly-Strayhorn Theatre namesake, Billy Strayhorn. The evening began with a cocktail reception and champagne toast, birthday cake (naturally!) before a tribute performance with famed jazz drummer Roger Humphriesvocalist Spanky Wilson and brass quintet C Street Brass. Deryck Tines energized the crowd with his soulful rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Partygoers who stayed late enjoyed an impromptu dance party in the theater lobby with DJ SMI.

The Man Behind the Music: “Strayhorn is not only a monumental musician for Pittsburgh, but for the world,” said Janera Solomon, executive director for the Kelly-Strayhron Theatre. “As an openly gay black man, he transcended social stigmas and achieved worldwide recognition.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This year Billy Strayhorn would have been 100 years old. Although he is no longer, physically, in our presence he will always have a space to call home in our hearts and soul. Bill Strayhorn will forever reside there.
If worse comes to worse YouTube will always be here to replay his voice to us. Click play below and you'll understand.
