Non-Profit Organization Option X Kicks Off The Xypher Lounge MC Battle
Option X has put together the first annual Xypher Lounge MC Battle with special guest judges award-winning band THE LOWKEYS.
Calling all MCs! The First Annual Xypher Lounge MC Battle is here! Hip Hop lyricists will come together to compete for the title of “hottest MC” and walk home with $500 cash in their pocket. Non-profit organization Option X, will be the ones responsible for allowing these MCs to showcase their skills. They have chosen THE LOWKEYS to be the battle’s special guest judges.
Option X’s main focus is to promote the advancement of the arts in the youth community. They have teamed with the 818 Lounge in Glendale, CA to put on The Xypher Lounge. This event will be a fundraiser to help Option X continue to encourage kids to achieve their dreams whether it be in art, music, dance, or film. THE LOWKEYS have also contributed to the awareness of the arts in the youth community by producing a unique presentation to the kids involved in the Option X activities. The kids enjoyed the fact that they can achieve their dreams just as THE LOWKEYS have.
The Xypher Lounge will begin Saturday, May 14, 2011 and continue on Saturday, May 21st with the semi-finals and ending on Saturday, May 28th when the winner will be announced. Also, THE LOWKEYS will also be expected to perform at The Xypher Lounge Finals accompanied by their live band. Opening preliminaries will be at 9:00pm. Everyone in attendance will also be celebrating the birthday of THE LOWKEYS group member Nardi.
