Her style and music combined ruled the latter years of the 90s and so on. From her clothing to lyrics, Missy had your attention captured. The last we saw of Missy had to be in this video from 2008.
Now for the real question. It has been seven years. What are your thoughts of Missy Elliott and this WTF (Where They From) video? Do you think this video was not good? Did you enjoy it? Are you happy that she is back or do you think that she should have not returned?
Adele with her immediate smash hit, 'Hello'
has reached week three at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. No. 2 Justin Bieber's 'Sorry'
, No. 3 Sam Smith's 'Writing's On The Wall
', No. 4 The Weeknd's 'The Hills
' and No. 5 Drake's 'Hotline Bling.'
Hello?! It's Adele.
After a three year hiatus, while at home becoming a mom, Adele would return to release 'Hello' on October 23, 2015. This track will be featured on her junior album titled '25'.
'Hello' was written by Adele and Greg Kurstin and produced by Greg alone. He also performed the bass, guitar, piano/keyboards while Adele were on the drums. Greg is otherwise best known for, co-writing on 'Shine
' by Years & Years, co-writing and producing 'Come and Get It
' by John Newman and producing 'Famous
' by Charli XCX. He has also produced and co-wrote a great amount of songs on album, Kelly Clarkson's 'Piece By Piece
'. Judging from this, we'd say that Greg is well established. Prior to mommy-hood, you would recall Adele to the vocals on hit songs such as 'Rolling In The Deep', 'Rumor Has It', and 'Set Fire To The Rain' all featured on the album '21
' (2011). 'Make You Feel My Love', 'Crazy For You', and the world renown 'Chasing Pavements' all featured on her debut album '19
' (2008).
Although all of the songs listed above are just great in their own way, 'Hello' is doing something, right now, that's just indescribable. It's simply amazing. Adele, maturity beyond her years? Click here!
Single sales figures have reached an estimate of 450,000 in the first two days. While in its third week it has accrued another 635,000 more in single sales. This song seems to be doing extremely well. We believe the public is more than prepared to hear what will make up the rest of the album '25'. Well, as it would serve, we only have ten days to wait. Friday, November 20 is the album release.
Hedy Lamarr Born Hedwig Eva Kiesler on November 9, 1914 in Vienna, Austria. She became a student of theater director Max Reinhardt in Berlin and began her career in 1930 in Czech and German films. At 19 years old, she would feature in a Czech production Ecstasy (Ektese {1933}). This very film would become an international sensation by her nude appearance in simulating an orgasm. Quite fortunately Hollywood caught wind of this and wanted in. She found interest and signed with MGM. This is when "Hedy Lamar" was created to spark more pizazz behind the actress, as her American film career was born.
Hedy Lamarr would sail on to conquer roles in films such as Algiers (1938) as Gaby, Lady of the Tropics (1939), White Cargo (1942) as Tondelayo. Then sadly post WWII her career in films began to tank so MGM decided not to renew her contract. It would take seven years until the public would experience her talents on screen pictures again. At 35 years old, on December 21, 1949 NYC would capture Hedy Lamarr in the premiere of (my personal favorite) the both epic and classic, Cecile B. DeMilles' "Samson and Delilah" as Delilah (of course) and alongside Victor Mature cast as Samson. This became her best known for performance and Paramount Pictures' most profitable movie filmed. It brought in $12 million in rental from theatres.
Hedy Lamarr lead on to star in a handful of other pictures, including The Female Animal (1958), before retiring and living out the rest of her years in Orlando, FL. She would leave our world on January 19, 2000. She may be out of physical sight but she will never be out of mental mind. Happy Birthday, Hedy Lamarr! ! ! !
Its that time of the month again. Time to present this music playlist.

Born Traci Renee Braxton, Traci is best known for her role in WEtv's hit show "Braxton Family Values". This woman has a flame and its burning bright. Traci may derive from a musical family, however, she cannot be held in comparison to either of them in sound. Aside from her vocal talents she is also a writer. Not to mention, she has studied classical ballet, learned to play the drums and dabbled in acting in her childhood as well as in her adult years. As an adult you would have seen her with her husband, Kevin Surratt, in Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.
Traci is the third child following Toni and Michael Braxton. She may be one of the middle children along with Towanda Chloe, but I believe that it's clear that because of her many talents, being overlooked is not a factor. Let's get onto the music, Shall we?
Traci Braxton
"Last Call" (Official Music Video)
This is in fact Traci's debut single off her album titled, Crash and Burn. It definitely sets the mood for what to expect on this album. Including songs, Holding On, DWLY, and What About Love.
Originally from Severn, MD and currently still residing in Maryland, Traci began her music career in 1990. She was apart of a RnB group, The Braxtons. She formed this group with her sisters. Although she would only be apart of the group to release one song titled "Good Life". This because Kevin Surratt Jr. (her only child) became the new light of her life when she found out she was pregnant with him.
In 2011, Traci and her sisters would rejoin once again to create WEtv's "Braxton Family Values". Then in just two years in 2013 Traci would begin her solo singing career. She signed with an independent media conglomerate Entertainment One under eOne Music and Soul World Entertainment.
On October 7, 2014, her solo album Crash and Burn would be released. It would reach #11 on the relaunched Billboard R&B Albums chart and #1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. With numbers like these, It's as if she has never left the music scene.
Why are so many people hellbent on feeling like they've been robbed? Could it be that both creators have similar minds? Whatever happen to the saying, Great Minds Think Alike?" Does it not work the same when money is involved?
Ariana Grande has a video titled "One Last Time" directed by Max Landis and published on YouTube on February 15, 2015. While SAFIA's video titled "You Are The One" directed by Jimmy Ennett and published on YouTube on September 24, 2014 just about 5 months prior. Both of which videos may be viewed below. This post is not intended to defend either party, however, I will be expressing my thoughts on both video concepts.
Ariana Grande - "One Last Time"
First up, Ariana Grande. I chose to explain hers first because this is the order of how I tuned in. This video was captured in a style similar to home video footage. The majority of this video was in first person view (or POV). I feel directing it this way really places you in the role as the character traveling through the streets with Ariana. Everything she sees, you see. The chaos in the streets, the traffic of stopped vehicles, the police trying to maintain order, the paramedics saving lives, etc. Not to mention, the many colors that are illuminating the once still sky. They travel through the streets, down allies, into buildings, upstairs and finally to a rooftop. There's so much going on where the anticipation is both capturing and thrilling. Each and every second of watching this video you are perched at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next?
SAFIA - "You Are The One"
SAFIA. The only reason I even knew of this, band(?) was because I was curious as to who Max Landis is. Upon a wiki or possible IMDb search, I ended up clicking on a link of a blog post comparing the two videos through their similarities.
This video is filmed with the main character facing the camera at all times. You, as the viewer, are not able to see what she is viewing when she is viewing it. You only see what she sees once she has passed the viewing subjects. Chaos, parked cars, riots, an ambulance, etc. What is odd to me is that she is in constant run mode. In this entire video she is running in one direction, forward. I.e. toward you, the viewer. And not fast. But in slow motion. The sky in SAFIA's video is not threatening at all. It's more of a sun-setting sky. In fact, the point of her sudden need to get out of her car and run is not quite clear. The reason is not explained until the conclusion of the video.
Do I believe that one creator took an idea from another. No.
Could SAFIA's video have been an inspiration to Ariana? Possibly.
I do believe that the two videos are extremely different.
What do you think?
Is there really such a month that celebrates Women's History or is it just one day?? This is a logical question. Afam Point of View Magazine believes it to be the month of March. While Rock-It believes it to be one day in March. However, does there really need to be a whole month dedicated to women? I say yes. Even though, this is the first I am hearing of such a celebration. But that is what change means. I can adapt and I can surely participate.

First up, I would like to mention Janelle Monae. What a Fresh of Breath Air. She definitely Breaths my Take away. Huh? What? Anyway, where was I? Ah yes. Janelle Monae.
Today she stands for so much more than when she first came onto the scene. She is one of the top faces for CoverGirl. She uplifts and empowers young girls all over the world with her demeanor, style and drive to be successful. Also, she is the epitome of greatness. She is a true Electric Lady.
This lady is phenomenal. Her show is amazing. I wasn't always a fan. I mean I have heard of her, of course, but I was not an avid watcher of her show. Until recently. She has guest appearances from many celebs, of course. But the many guests that drew my attention to her show were the independent, internet sensation celebs. I think it is a great segment. I am also a fan of her celebrity scare segment. I think it's hilarious to watch celebs be in fear for their life. That probably reads as bad. But, come on, I know you like it and laugh too.
Ellen. She is also a face for CoverGirl just as Janelle Monae. She is a wonderful person to look up to for various reasons that are too many to list. However, I will say that her boldness to stand out above her peers through style and pizzazz can be very motivating to the youth in all walks of life.
It has been much too long for women to be viewed as less than, secondary to man, not good enough, etc. That must change. And it surely is changing. Little by little but definitely surely.
I mean, was it not a woman who designed and stitched the first American flag? Which had thirteen stars symbolizing the thirteen colonies of the U.S. Was it not a woman who created the first hair products for black women? Was it not a woman who turned a weekly paycheck as a talk show host into a billion dollar company? Was it not a woman who did much more than just give birth to man? Stop treating women less than. Women (hardworking women) mean and stand for much more than less.
This is never easy to do. Asking that special someone (who may mean the world to you) to Prom. Nervousness, sweaty palms, trying to find the words.
All of these things are likely to take place when approaching that specific person. Or maybe you're just that confident and fearless. Then none of this will occur prior to asking. However, one thing that will occur to both parties is that space of anticipation. Will they say, "Yes" or will they say "No"?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many people are brave enough to ask this question to their everyday peers. While very few are bold enough to ask this of that one celebrity they are a huge fan of.
In 2004, 17 year old Ruje'anne Duplessis (of Springfield, MA) wrote to BET asking Ludacris to her senior prom. The network was astonished by her bravery and accepted. They planned the whole evening and made it especially special for her.
Not everyone were as lucky as R. Duplessis. Such as Max Whitmore. He was brave enough to create a YouTube video asking Victoria Justice to his prom in 2013. She actually declined attending his prom, however, she did make an appearance later at his school where she spent the day with his friends and teachers.
This year we have a new prom-posal. This one is coming from Cole LaBrant. Just two days ago, Cole uploaded a video to YouTube bravely asking a celebrity to his senior prom. This celeb is none other than, Selena Gomez.
What will Selena's answer be?
With your help, you could make Cole's dream come true.
All you have to do is share this post and hashtag it with #SelenaYesColeTPS.
