If you are familiar with the dialect of Robby Johnson, I bet you would have never guessed that he grew up a French Canadian.
Growing up in a French province in Canada, Robby learned to rid himself of his accent by watching American television. Along with American TV he also listen to a wide range of music. Above all the various genres, he found himself gravitating more toward country music. He began to appreciate it and fell in love with all that it had to offer.

Robby was a shy child living a poverty stricken life. With never letting go of his imagination and holding tight to his dream he was well and able to keep hope alive. He believed that his future would result in him becoming the best he could be. In whatever best that may be.

One year, on Christmas, he received a gift that would ultimately set his life on a different path. This gift was a paid demo session. It was through this experience that lead him to realize within himself was a gift as well; his voice.

In 2012, he quit his life in Canada, traveled South, stopped in Tennessee, recorded more songs and before he knew it, Nashville became his new home.

Today, however, is the release of his new album titled "Don't Look Back".

Did You Know, Elle King was born...

Elle King

She was born, Tanner Elle Schneider. Yes, her father is actor and comedian, Robert Schneider. Her mother is a former model named London King, which is where the last name King derived from in her stage name. She knew full well that if she were to present herself as Tanner Schneider or even Elle Schneider that she would, by default, end up riding the coattail of her father. Instead, she changed her name to read Elle King. This way she could travel her own path and create her own resources connections along the way.

She grew up traveling back and forth between Ohio and L.A. However, she currently resides in Brooklyn, NYC, and also records her music there. For the time being, you can experience a live perforance of Elle King in Brooklyn and Harlem. Those locatons will grow and vary soon enough.

I say, it was a brilliant move to decide the name change to Elle King. Keep up the great work.

I remember when I first signed up for twitter. It was in the Summer of 2009. One of the first local celebs to follow me was Wordsmith. The first thing I thought was, "how did he get verified?" Then I began to research him and that is when it became clear. This guy is a genius. Or perhaps just a man with a dream that he had plan to see through.

The Past for Wordsmith.

"WORDSMITH has called many places around the world home. The son of a former full-time Army Colonel meant home changed often; from New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Delaware, Texas, Kansas to as far as Germany. Growing up with the always inevitable relocation, Word found rap to be a powerful constant. His knowledge stems from starvation as he would save his lunch money each week to buy classic tapes from Redman, Big L, Nas, Eric B. and Rakim, Jeru the Damaja, A tribe called Quest, Da Bush Babees, Krs One, Gangstarr, Das Efx, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and his cousin Roc Marciano. Going away to school finally settled Word in one place, Maryland, first Morgan State with a full scholarship to play football, and finally Salisbury University where he continued football and received his B.A. in Theatre, Class of 2002.

The Present for Wordsmith.

Wordsmith, the man behind the lyrics. Being a hip-hop artist can really take a toll on a person. There are so many stereotypes that come along with performing in this genre. The "noise" that is classified as a musical theme for the "urban" communities. Over the years Word outgrew and overcame the negative stereotypes. With that he earned the opportunity of performing shows in not just clubs, but grade schools, colleges, theaters and festivals.

One thing people fail to realize about rap and hip hop lyrics is that not all tracks consist of sailor talk. Meaning, Wordsmith creates his music free from prophanity. Yet there are still messages to be received and through his outstanding style it is grasped by rock, pop, alternative and jazz music audiences.

This caused a cross-genre appeal. Growing fame brought a demand for a professsional presentation for a more diverse audience. This being why The Big Band Theory was formed. To provide a greater appearance and accumulate much larger and more sufficient bookings.

Wordsmith has toured throughout his career with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Las Vegas, Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, Charlotte, Indianapolis, San Jose, Harrisburg, and overseas in London, England. He has both lectured and performed at various music conferences around the country sharing his great music and professional experience with other indie artists; conferences include SXSW, A3C, Mid Atlantic Music, Millennium Music, Launch and more. Wordsmith also visits grade schools to perform for students and promote anti-bullying messages.

Schlagle High School and move to NYC to pursue her interest in drama at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy paid for by a scholarship. Although she did not complete this journey for reasons which are clear today. Janelle decided to discontinue her educational path in NYC to then move to ATL where she would work as a sales clerk at an Office Depot (OD). Although her career there came to an abrupt when she was let go she did not allow OD to get the best of her. Apparently things do happen for a reason. She would meet Antwan André Patton who would introduce her to this lifestyle she is currently experiencing today.

Jacob Thompson (Jay-Play), the producer, the singer, the multi-instrumentalist and the songwriter.

What a title, huh?

Here's a man who may very well be young in age but his soul has definitely resided here much longer. When you think of Jay-Play you are to think of a genre none other than New Jack Swing. 

There is nothing like that, what is now referred to as, old school RnB.

Where did it go?

In a couple of years it will have gone nowhere. Simply because in the hands of Jay-Play through today's technology it will be right back here playing in our airwaves.

Born in the early 90s when RnB was still fresh and held a lot of meaning behind its lyrics Jacob listened to music from artist such as Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, Timbaland and of course Janet Jackson. All of these great musicians and entertainers together and separate are what inspired Jay-Play to become who he is today. 

In 2008, Jacob would grow to realize that his talents shouldn't remain a hobby. He would then form his very own independent recording label and title it, "KooLN3rD Music Records" (KNM). 

These days Jay-Play is responsible for the production of Eshee's "HEART TOUCHING".

 You know, I think by now you probably understand the gist of who this man is.

Satellite High -- RayJozz

Undeground artist and Hip-Hop Head Rayjozz unveiled a new track recently called "Satellite High". Upon listening to it, it's actually a great song. It's a bit different from a lot of other songs but it has that Andre 3000 from "The Love Below" album kind of feel to it. The production is great and although the singing may catch you off gaurd,its not cheesy and excessive and actually blends and meshes well with the beat. The audio quality shows some excellent mixing as the beat and the vocals blend well and there is no popping or needless fading in and out in the beat. All in all, it's a good song and yall should most definitely check it. Yall can listen to it below and leave your comments to let us know what you think.
